Video for David Bowie’s ‘Be My Wife’

Promotional video for the 1977 single 'Be My Wife' directed by Stanley Dorfman

The video for ‘Be My Wife’ was David Bowie’s first since Mick Rock’s Ziggy-era promo films, and was shot in Paris by Stanley Dorfman.

It features Bowie in make-up and clothing influenced by Buster Keaton, giving an irreverent, detached performance on a guitar, which gels with the candid feeling generated by the song.
