The video for ‘Be My Wife’ was David Bowie’s first since Mick Rock’s Ziggy-era promo films, and was shot in Paris by Stanley Dorfman.
It features Bowie in make-up and clothing influenced by Buster Keaton, giving an irreverent, detached performance on a guitar, which gels with the candid feeling generated by the song.
